Internships

If you are seeking an internship at The Women’s Center you must meet and comply with the following criteria:
  • We cannot accommodate postgraduate or doctoral students at this time
  • All interns must submit a completed application and pass a background and fingerprint check. Background checks are required for all positions.
  • Dependability is crucial. This work demands a strong commitment to serving clients in crisis and their safety. Standard time commitment is at least six (6) months to one (1) year.
  • Please Note: We often receive several applicants for a single position, so a completed application does not guarantee a spot.
  • All positions are in person and based in Waukesha, you must have your own reliable means of transportation to get to us.
  • Please submit your application as early as possible and at a minimum, 3 months prior to your intended start date.

Once you have completed your application, you will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator, who will let you know if we will proceed with your application. This will typically happen within 10 days of your submission. If we proceed with your application, you will be asked to come in for an interview, fill out the necessary paperwork and discuss next steps.
