Domestic Violence Counselor – Shelter  

Position: Full -time, 40 Hours, Sun – Thurs 1:30pm – 10pm Some weekends required.

Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide counseling and supportive services and serve as an advocate to adult victims of domestic violence residing in the emergency shelter.

Legal Advocate

Position: Full-time, M-F 8am-5pm; rotating evenings and weekends required.

Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to advocate in the civil and criminal justice arena for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, stalking and child abuse residing in Shelter or Transitional LivingAlso responsible for answering hotline calls and providing support to other shelter staff.

Domestic Violence Counselor

Position: Full -time, 40 Hours – Some evenings and rotating weekends required.

Summary:  The primary responsibility of this position is to provide trauma processing and supportive services while serving as an advocate to adult victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse and assault.

Shelter Advocate: Full Time

Position: Fulltime, 3rd Shift, Weekend

Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide 3rd shift coverage for the domestic violence shelter and the 24-hour Hotline, and advocacy and support to shelter residents.

Shelter Program Assistant

Position:  32 hours, weekends and evenings required

SummaryResponsible for ensuring adequate supplies for: client meals, cleaning, and optimal functioning of shelter program.  Assigns tasks to residents, support for 24-hour hotline and shelter advocates.  Co-facilitation of some shelter groups. Sorting, storing, and distribution of donations and purchasing supplies.

Shelter Support Staff 

Position: No set hours; this is an on-call position to fill-in vacant shifts. All three shifts and weekends are needed.

Summary: To ensure smooth operation of the shelter, while providing for the needs of the clients and performing the duties relative to the shift. Support staff are expected to provide on-call coverage of the 24-Hour Hotline and shelter. This position includes advocacy and support to clients.

Summary: Undergraduate internships are offered year round. They are designed for students who are interested in learning about the full scope of our agency and include duties such as donation sorting, client childcare, front desk support, and clerical/administrative tasks.
