Administrative Assistant
Position: Full-time, possible nights or weekends
Summary/Objective: To provide administrative support to agency staff and a warm, welcoming, empathetic initial contact to clients, volunteers, and visitors.

Dual Domestic Abuse/Sexual Violence Advocate
Position: Full-time, some evenings and weekends required
Summary/Objective: To provide advocacy, counseling, and supportive services to any victim of domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Lead Advocate
Position: Full-time, variable shifts
Summary/Objective: To assist in supervision of shelter advocates, interns and volunteers, including scheduling, training, and coaching. Assist with coverage for the shelter shifts and the 24-hour Hotline. This position will also provide coverage for the walk-in schedule.  Assigned work shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure adequate coverage of the shelter program.

Legal Advocate
Position: Part-time, rotating evenings and weekends required
Summary/Objective: To advocate for victims of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, stalking and child abuse in the civil and criminal justice arena by providing safety planning, information, and support.

Systems Liaison Advocate
Position: Full-time, variable hours
Summary/Objective: To advocate for survivors of domestic violence who have been deemed at high risk for lethality by law enforcement. This position will also provide safety planning, court accompaniment, advocacy, and referrals. This position will also provide education to community partners.

Violence Prevention Advocate
Position: Full-time, some evenings and weekends required
Summary/Objective: To be a public representative of The Women’s Center providing and coordinating all community awareness and prevention education related to the issues of domestic violence and sexual assault and abuse.

Volunteer Coordinator
Position: 32 hours per week, some evenings and weekends required
Summary/Objective: To oversee all facets of The Women’s Center’s Volunteer Program, including facilitation of Advocate Training. This position is also responsible for coordinating holiday events for clients including recruiting volunteers to assist with holiday events. Another responsibility is to maintain regular communication with all volunteers. 

Youth Advocate – Sexual Assault/Abuse
Position: Full-time, some evenings and weekends required
Summary/Objective: To provide counseling, support and advocacy to children affected by sexual assault/abuse. Will provide services to domestic violence victims as needed.


The Women’s Center is proud to be part of the Housing Action Coalition (HAC) of Waukesha County, a consortium addressing homelessness in our county. HAC is now hiring for a Coordinated Entry Specialist, and application details are included in the posting below.

Coordinated Entry Specialist
Position: Part-time, 24 hours/week
Summary/Objective: To concentrate on the Waukesha County coordinated entry system, helping individuals and families navigate the coordinated entry system and coordinated service delivery.

Internship Opportunities
Undergraduate internships are offered year round. They are designed for students who are interested in learning about the full scope of our agency and include duties such as donation sorting, client childcare, front desk support, and clerical/administrative tasks.
