October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Domestic violence affects communities across Wisconsin. Recent research estimates that 94,299 Wisconsinites experience domestic violence each year.

But many experiences of domestic violence go unseen and unreported, meaning the real number is likely higher. Fear, uncertainty, and not knowing where to turn can make it hard to ask for help. Sometimes, people aren’t even sure if what they’re experiencing is domestic violence.
The Women’s Center provides a safe place to turn, offering free and confidential services, advocacy, and connections to resources for individuals and families affected by domestic violence.

Remembering Lives Lost
Honor and remember those who have lost their lives to domestic violence through a powerful display of life-sized purple silhouettes on the front grounds of The Women’s Center. The display is a stark and sobering reminder of the impact of domestic violence in this community we all share. Each silhouette represents a member of our community whose life was tragically taken by domestic violence.
